Audio-Concepts 83 Report post Posted October 24, 2013 As some of you remember....I had a 98 Mercury Sable that I had started a build in, but a lot changed and it became stagnant! Well now...I have a much easier platform to work with. Upon the purchase of my wifes 2010 Equinox we traded in the Sable...and now I have her old Blazer. Blank canvas :-D Now heres the goodies! Headunit is an Alpine 9886 Front stage : Hertz HSK Hi-Energy 3-way Front stage amp: Linear Power 2.2HV Sub stage: Onyx LSM 12" Sub stage amp: Tru Technology Wiring & RCA's: Knu Koncepts Plans: Front stage- 6.5" will be in factory location while 3" and tweeter will be in pods on dash in factory location. Sub stage- Sub will be in a 15x15x36 tuned to 30 htz with a 6"x18" aeroport. Will have sub firing up and port towards drivers side. Amps will be in a false floor at the rear of the cargo area. There will be some custom paint work on the enclosure and top face of amp rack while carpeted beauty panels will complete the look. 1 12 Aaron Clinton, Piormykqul, Nilyrawtwm and 10 others reacted to this

Audio-Concepts 83 Report post Posted October 25, 2013 Overall...I really just want a real nice and clean daily driver. I dont have the funds to build something to compete, but I dont want to just plaster 1000's of speakers and say its SQ. Im building it so my front stage is as deep and wide as possible with as little fabrication as possible. The stock speaker grills on the top of the dash will be my platform for the 3" mid range and tweeter pods. I have determined the angles and made notes for overall positioning to give as little reflection as possible. The 6.5" mid bass will be in the factory location on the doors. Basically I am trying to have as little fab work but still get the best quality sound possible. 1 Aaron Clinton reacted to this

Audio-Concepts 83 Report post Posted October 26, 2013 Just ordered my dash kit, wiring harness, and a new mounting cage for the Alpine....so progress is getting there. With the season getting colder and holidays coming up progress will be kinda slow....but hopefully I will be building! 1 Aaron Clinton reacted to this

Audio-Concepts 83 Report post Posted November 17, 2013 I still have to build the pods and enclosure. Time is very scarse with the holidays. But while the kids were napping today I ripped apart the interior ran my RCA's and remote and got the headunit finally installed! Just gotta run speaker wire to the front and start the fabrication of the pods for the mid range and tweeter! 1 Aaron Clinton reacted to this
Audio-Concepts 83 Report post Posted November 17, 2013 Getting ready for tomorrows festivities. Gonna get the enclosure built and then start the body work portion before paint. Also going to make the rings for the dash pods so I can finally start those. Really not very far but lots of tedious finesse work needs to be done. 1 Aaron Clinton reacted to this
