6APPEAL 31 Report post Posted July 18, 2013 I've had a 200 amp Powermaster on 2 of my GNs for 10+ years. Great units, never had a problem. Mine have the black thermal coating on them. I would get a unit larger than 100 amps, which is not much more than the factory 78 amp. I would lean towards a a Delco 12Si alternator which is available in 100 or 140 amp versions. Kids, wife and work take the majority of my time. I've slowly worked my way down to just 2 Turbo Buicks. Sold my 87 GN race car right after Christmas. The 86 is slowly being stripped of parts since it was totaled many years ago, which will allow me to get down to 1 hot rod. The 87 is on jackstands with me debating on doing a frame off resto-mod. Both are stored is a safe, dry environment so I don't have to worry about them. Now if I could make myself let go of some parts.......LOL Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
