bum 4 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 It's dual 4 ohm, wired down to 2 ohm in the box, bridged at the amp for i believe about 200 watts? In the new box he will have the ability to wire each coil to a chanel that is rated 185x2 at 4 ohm each. Wiring like that and the ported box will be a nice improvement if you wire a coil to one chanel and a coil to the other is a big no no. that's if i remember right some thing about them firing difernetly at diferent times will cause the coil to kick side ways? maybe i am thinking two amps who knows. if you want the us amp/ re audio amp just say some thing private message me if you would like it. Uhh, that's news to me then. I've done it on my 100.4 and everything was fine. You're mistaken my good sir! I think you may be thinking of two amps with phase or gains not matched. I'll let nick reply about the amp
Cablguy184 49 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 I would keep it wired to a 2 ohm load and run it from a mono block amp ... I would not use 2 separate channels to run 1 sub ... You can do what you want ... but this is my suggestion ... Thanks, Randal ...

You can do what you want ... but this is my suggestion ... Thanks, Randal ... What's your reasoning why? We don't have a mono to run with right now. If you wire one speaker up to one channel and another speaker up to another channel then they're going to see the same frequencies, same amount of power, and everything across the board, right? Why would this be any different going to two different coils on one speaker?
Audio-Concepts 83 Report post Posted October 20, 2011 If you have a 2ch bridgeable amp, it works similar to a mono! Run it in parallel, bridged on the amp you should be fine and youre not powering the coils differently!

Run it in parallel, bridged on the amp you should be fine and youre not powering the coils differently! I realize it works similar to a mono amp, I'm just looking for reasons why each channel would power a coil differently. I've always thought that each channel sends out exactly the same as the other on an amp like this.
NicholasJohnson 12 Report post Posted October 22, 2011 Start building tomorrow, should have it all done this weekend if nothing comes up! i have a us amps/ re audio xt 2000d i mite be willing to get rid of mfg rated at 150 x 1 at 4 ohm 300 x 1 at 2 ohm and 1000x1 at 1 ohm. it puts out. but i am just worried casue it smells smokey. wish i had the money right this second to ship it to you for free i would give ya the amp free too. i got 15 bucks right now to my name lol's till i can get paid. i am wondering if that $15 would cover shipping to ya. i just don't know if it would . if so i would have to dig up the recipet on e bay and find the remote bass knob for it and the booklet does not have a box any more tossed it. i do got money just don't want to touch it cause it saved for a car. lol's. i could try usps shipping. pm me if you want it. it works i just got to dig up the e bay recipet. and pay for the shipping. I think i will stick with my amp for now and make it work thanks for the offer though =) it seems to be working fine bridged right now and will be even better in the new box

Audio-Concepts 83 Report post Posted October 23, 2011 Basically, it would need to run in stereo if your using a ch per coil, so running bridged would turn it into a mono!
