Hopefully someone can answer me. I've installed my mids and tweets in the door. Couldn't use sail panel and flush mount due to structures on back of panel. Wired both to stock speaker wiring for now and all sounds good, just not loud. Ready to amp them. This is where im lost. Im using stock stereo so i can keep xm, Bluetooth, steering wheel controls, etc. Do I cut speaker wire in kick panel. Cnnect speaker wire from stereo and run to trunk to xo2. Then run from amp back to kick panel and tie into stock wiring to speaker? Wiring to door is made into a plug so i cant sneak new speaker wire in.

AHA!!! I actually get it. A few months ago i picked up a used X02 because my wife wants a nostalgic old school linear build. I can use this instead of hpfs. Thank you for the explanation Parrish. Going to make an amp rack for American base on bottom, shorter board for 952 and top short board for xo2. Textured white paint to match sub box and few blue LEDs to light it up. If i could actually built what I imagine I would have an awesome setup. But sadly, ima klutz so que sera.

Going to install this weekend if my wiring ans speakers come in. This is my first ever component install so its going to be interesting. I've decided to place the tweeters in the sail panel instead of the stock dash space. A pillar has an airbag so that's out. I have to use a 100hz high pass filter. Is this a seperate component or is it included in the crossover with the set? Yeah, im car audio ignorant, but im trying to learn. I will definitely post up results after i do the install.

2011 hyundai sonata. 1 XFL12 in ported box. VFL 4480.1 pushing sub at 1 ohm. Ordered new components CDT HD-61. I have a modded 952iq I'd like to use on the comps. Wll this be enough power for these speakers. Im not sure what the output on a modded 952 is. I have no way to clamp and test an amp so any ballpark numbers?

That's actually a good reason to join. I've seen on other forums that the users who have the most knowledged act the most childish. Whay good does it do to have that much information and not share?

Still have a few months to gather all equipment so the Search will continue

Was a stock head unit I connected to so no. This Amp will be used in my wife's build and will Have to use her stock unit too. So I'll have to get a crossover.

Can you suggest a different crossover? I searched the net and only found a few older posts with an xo2 for sale.

Current setup kicker 12" L3 on kicker zx300.1. Received a used TIPS modded 952iq and decided inwould try it in my setup. Removed the kicker amp and wired in the linear. Used the two inner terminals for mono to the sub. Powered up and sub was booming louder than with kicker. Only way to describe next was sub locked up on a bass note. Stereo continued to play but sub stayed on low note. Does anyone have suggestions on what i did wrong or what might be wrong? Speaker pos/neg switched? Possible previous damage to amp? Gain set too high? I shut system off for a reset (dont ask me why i thought that would work) powered back on with different song but same result. Pulled amp and replaced with kicker and all works fine. Side note: how much power gain does modding a 952 iq give?

Ok i used MurderMat sound deadening on my rear deck and trunk lid today. Had to go back and use "patches" over the wiring so they would not vibrate against the trunk lid liner after re-installation. Used a few strips on gas door to beef the plastic up and stopped most of rattle from it. Now my biggest troubles are from the rear bumper surround. Most noticable on the drivers side. Can you just shoot some expandable foam in there? If i have a wreck, will this create major problems for repairs or will they just rip that out with the bumper? My nozzle is awaiting an answer. @cablguy184 domyou work at TIPS? Im going to try to drop off two amps for strip/powder coat next thursday and i'd ike to see a pro setup.

Are these modded?

Ghanks thunder.i was actually looking at the polk audio comp ser. Youre full of useful info and i appreciate you sharing it.

I agree I will have paid premium price after repairs and possible modding. But after that I will have a mint linear that can be used for years.

Prices?

Yeah, I went ahead and bought it. I can always use it on my car. So, do you have any recommendations for a set of comps <$200? And should I use 652 or 952 on them?
