Those rims were on the Pirelli edition mk1 GTI as far as I know. Hence the P-shaped "holes". Awesome looking rims and in awesome condition !

Was just talking to dad the other day about the reliability of newer cars. Part of the reason why oder cars are more reliable is, I think, the fact that the engines weren't pushed so far. With power comes heat and wear. I was amazed how the stock clutch on the mk1 dub lasted 300k, something that you don't see too often on newer cars but it also made only 50hp. Maybe my thinking is flawed though !

Bass cuts our after certain volume...help plz

Definately sounds like an impedance problem. Your current subs are wired too low and the amplifier is not stable at that impedance. Model numbers of the amps and subs would be of help in finding a solution. -

Welcome to CA-F. I deleted your other 2 topics, there is no need to post the same topic in all subforums, one is enough to be seen and get an answer First things first, what amplifier is it and what electrical system do you have ? -
Agreed on getting burned out by the kiddies in the car audio market. There is just so much imaturity, I sometimes have trouble not going off on them.

Because a transmission line, to my understanding cannot be geared to have such a peaky response as a ported box and is definately not so easy to tune compared to a ported box. The key in getting big numbers is testing. Lots of testing. External ports, internal ports, pipe in all imaginable places, any weird port/sub configuration, doubling up panels etc. From my personal testing I have seen that box size is going to be in close relationship with the amount of power you are using. But this is based on testing with the xxx, which isn't a such a great sub for scoring big numbers.

No transmission lines for spl. Straight and simple ported

Had to get up at 6:30 to return a microcontroller board to school

If you are going for a burp-only application, the btl is the most efficient. But if you want it to play music, the x-con is what you want. I would also steer clear from subs that are not reconeable (ie hype argh's). IMO, unless you are a die-hard competitor , owning a burp-only setup is pretty much out of the question. Much more fun to own a more musical sub and use it daily.

Looks good all finished up
