  2. Leasing information from SPL-Lab USA.

I will go over the basics of how this works and what to expect.

You will receive a contract after making payment that needs to be signed and faxed or emailed back to us.

So, this is how it works-

Customer wants to lease a meter...

    Let's say USB Meter.

    USB Meter costs $409.

Customer needs to email me- shizzzon@gmail.com for leasing inquiry.

Customer will pay us $409 for this meter after informing us of leasing request.

If it were any other meter, customer pays us the normal price for that meter.

Once paid, we will send a contract out and instructions. The contract needs to be signed and faxed or emailed back to us.

If customer does not agree to contract then we will refund money 100%

    What to expect in contract?

When the contract is received, your leasing period has started. You will generally have around 40days from the day you receive the contract to send it back to us, ship meter to you, use it and send it back to us in specified time.

If contract is not void, customer will typically around 75% of their payment refunded back.

If sent late, more money is withheld...

If over 60 days late from day customer received meter, there will be NO refund. It is assumed customer owns meter at that time.

***Any failure of device or missing items when returned will be replenished from customer's payment and remaining funds, if any, would then be refunded back to customer.

This is a very simple process.

We allow the following meters to be leased-

    USB Meter

    USB Pro Meter

    LCD Meter

    Bluetooth Wireless Meter

    USB Noise Meter

When these meters are returned back to us, they are immediately set aside (after being thoroughly tested) as "used."

Used meters are purchased directly through us and ALSO are used as leasing meters as well!

So some customers may receive brand new or used lease meters but functionality will always be 100%.

A used meter is sold around $40 cheaper than normal price.

When we have a Used meter, it will be posted in our forum section.

What if the meter is damaged upon receiving it?

We allow enough time to inspect and return it without it effecting your contract period. A new contract would need to be signed or a full refund would be issued.

    One more thing to note-

We do not always have meters in stock for leasing.

We reserve only a couple of meters out of our stock for leasing. When they are currently be leased, leasing for that particular meter will resume once one is returned.

***- we will not hold funds if the meter is damaged and is determined it was not done neglectfully or for the purpose of voiding warranty.

    Any more questions, just ask.

    Leasing began March 26, 2012...

  4. What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

    Yep, that's right.

We announced weeks ago that we were leaving CACO.. but apparently that changed!

We are staying right here where we've always been.

So what is this Group buy?

Starting April 8, 2012 and ending midnight EST on May 5, 2012, we will have our Group buy #2 for those who couldn't get in on it at the beginning of the year!

    What will this include?

Everything the original group buy had this year and at the same prices as well.

We will create the 2nd group buy thread the day it starts.

    Something else-

Starting March 26, 2012, we will be open to start leasing our meters again!

    USB Meter

    USB Pro Meter

    LCD Meter

    Bluetooth Wireless Meter

    USB Noise Meter

These 5 meters will all be available for leasing.

    Limited quantity only per meter.

More information on leasing March 26, 2012.

  5. This device in particular should not be used for such wide range tuning. We have another device for that usage...

I could show you graphs of before and after using ear vs our RTA Pro meter but as you say, it may not please your point.

In my experience, just from using a bass meter, measuring single notes has helped me gain large amounts of knowledge and spl increase over the ear...

I can only imagine what using a full range meter could do to better help educate and position equipment.

Again your equipment is only dealing with the sound curve of the equipment it CANNOT evaluate all the other factors that make a system sound good to the ear. We use RTA's to set systems up and EQ them, all sound engineers do, but that is a VERY SMALL part of the overall SQ of a system. A more accurate piece of equipment is always welcomed, but is it not the end all, be all of SQ judging. Equipment cannot evaluate everything the human ear hears.

No one is saying that this meter will be the end all of SQ judging. I don't see why your posts in this thread are all surrounding this concept. We all know SQ is subjective. But like you said, RTAs are used to HELP set up and tweak the system. Please let me know what I am not reading correctly.

  6. I have no use for this amp at the moment so I want to clear up some space. This amp is stable at 1 ohm and it is in perfect working condition. cosmetically its 8/10, mechanically its 10/10.

the birth sheets on these amps say an average of 1400-1500 watts at 1 ohm on 14.4 volts.

    Specs:

    # 1200 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm

    # 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

    # 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms

    # 1-ohm stable

    # speaker- and preamp-level inputs

    # preamp outputs

    # cooling fan

    # variable low-pass crossover (50-200 Hz, 12 dB per octave)

    # variable bass boost (0-18 dB) centered at 40 Hz with wired remote

    # subsonic filter (12 dB @ 25 Hz)

    # three-way protection circuitry

    # Amp Strapping Circuit

    200 plus shipping.

  7. I said no more than half way. It also would be affected by how much the volume is turned up on the head unit too. I think two of those subs can handle that brutus amp. The subs are no way going to see 1600 watts. The amp is rated at 14.4 volts and it is about 20% over-rated anyways.

  8. no more than half way on the gain knob though. and turn your

subsonic filter on like 25hz and then your low pass on maybe 80hz. then turn up the volume on your head unit but only by a little bit and don't pass up 3/4 the way. This general setting is just to see if you have everything right to work before you really tune the amp for better settings.
