In trinidad once its any color like blue or pink hid's then they are illegal. I think up to 6000K is legal.

The HID part isn't really illegal, the coloring is. At least in WA, for sure.

I'm not sure, but I'm being told that HIDs are becomming standard on new automobiles ... Possibly higher priced ones, like caddys Nissans, and others ... Need to look into this further ... Think ima hit a few dealerships here in the next day or so to browse around ...

They have been standard for years on upper end vehicles. My vehicle is a 2004 and has them. What makes them legal is the color temperature. Not to mention, when you start going above 6000k in color temperature, your usable light output decreases the higher the number which doesn't lend itself to their actual purpose. I am a fan of the 5-6000k range which is the whitest. Even then, they still have a colored tint from a distance. Mine have a bluer tint when I first turn them on but get whiter quickly as they heat up.

Truthfully, I have never heard of a true HID light being green.

Green HID's??????? Don't think that would be legal anywhere either, maybe not but maybe so. I have seen DOT approved HID lighting in hues from red, pink, yellow, white to blue due to the color temperature, but green wouldn't normally be part of the standard temperature color range.

Same for side marker lights or turn signals. It states very specifically in the highway patrol manual, side marker and park lights have to be red in the rear and yellow in the front, turn signals in the front have to be yellow and turn signals in the rear can be yellow or red. Back up lights, cargo lights and tag lights are typically white light but there are no rules on them for color.

I have HID's, just not sure the colored ones are legal up here.
